Bali - landscape and climate:
A mountain range extends from the centre of Bali to the east coast: its highest point is an active volcano named Mount Agung, which is 9,426 feet high (about 3000 metres). In the south regions of Bali are dry plain lands. During the rain season some parts of this region are floated by water. The whole island of Bali is surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. In the south one can enjoy postcard beaches with fine white sand, on the northern side one can find beaches with black sand, a result of volcanic activity. The climate is hot and humid (tropic) and the wildlife and flora is an interesting mixture of Asian an Pacific island biotopes.
